How do the components connect?

Does each socket have its own full supply capacity?
No. Connected outlets share the supply. Observe the ratings of the supply, cables, protection and individual sockets; adding outlets does not increase the available power.
Will the USB ports charge a laptop?
USB charging is not listed as part of this bundle.
