Why Choose This PDU?
-
When your rack layout demands maximum vertical space efficiency, this vertical-mounted PDU occupies no U-space (0 U) and runs alongside uprights or the cabinet side – freeing more rack height for equipment.
-
Ideal for racks with many IEC-plugged devices (servers, network appliances, storage units) — gives you a consolidated distribution unit without needing multiple horizontal strips.
-
Flexible plug/inlet options make it easy to match mains feeds, whether standard UK plug, higher capacity, or international/infrastructure uses.
-
Heavy-duty build quality ensures reliability and durability in professional installations, not just consumer-grade strips.
Applications & Use-Cases
-
High-density server racks and data centre enclosures where equipment uses IEC C13 connections and space is premium.
-
Network closets, comms rooms or broadcast racks where vertical power distribution allows better cable routing and airflow.
-
Installations where future scalability is expected — choosing a higher-outlet count version means you minimise future PDUs and maintain a cleaner setup.
-
Situations where rack space is precious and 1.5 U or 2 U horizontal PDUs are unacceptable from a space-utilisation perspective.
Ordering & Custom Options
-
Choose your outlet-count model (e.g., 8-way, 12-way, 16-way, 24-way) depending on rack load and devices.
-
Select your plug/inlet type to match your site’s mains feed or UPS output.
-
If you require longer lead length, custom socket mixes (IEC C13 + C19), surge-filtering, monitoring, or custom finish/colour, contact us at info@dataroomdirect.com for a tailored quote.
-
Standard-models ready to order; bespoke variants may incur longer lead time.
Pricing & Delivery
-
Entry-level models start from around £35.00 (as listed on site for vertical IEC PDUs) for the simplest configuration.
-
Price increases apply for higher-way counts, premium plug/inlet options or added features (surge protection, monitoring).
-
UK shipping & delivery terms apply; check for free-delivery thresholds or expedited shipping options.
Installation & Compatibility Notes
-
Mount the unit to the rack’s side-uprights or rear panel in the cabinet, ensuring cable access and ventilation are maintained.
-
Ensure all devices plugged into the PDU are within the rated load of the PDU and that upstream feed (breaker, UPS) supports total load plus margin.
-
Use proper cable management to keep the PDU lead and connected device cables away from hot-spots and ventilation flows.
-
If the chosen plug/inlet is a Commando or IEC C20, ensure the site socket or UPS output matches — mismatches may cause compatibility or safety issues.
